Running a successful printing company relies on a number of different skillsets. Obviously we need to have skilled and experienced printers in the different divisions of the company, then there are the managers who oversee production right through to the people who handle the receiving and dispatch, as well as all the other processes in between. However, there is one part of the business which is often overlooked – the administration.
Here are House of Print we put as much emphasis on having the right people behind the scenes as on those that do the actual production. Admin is not often considered as important as the production but it is the backbone of our success. It is only through controlled and carefully managed admin that the company can operate efficiently. A big part of the admin function revolves around the financial aspects. While we pride ourselves on our production capabilities, we also have a special team in our admin department lead by our financial manager Ewan Venter.
Ewan has not been with us for very long but he has certainly made a lasting impression. Ewan came to House of Print in 2015 when he joined the team as our Financial Manager. He started his studies with a BCom degree in 2010. In 2011 he changed course to study a BCom Chartered Institute of Management Accountant degree which he passed in 2013. In 2014 he obtained his Honours in Chartered Accounting and began studying for his board exams. He joined us the following year and continued studying part time.
In November last year, despite a heavy work load here, Ewan passed his final board exams with the highest marks in the country. He is now a qualified chartered management accountant. We congratulate Ewan on his achievements and thank him for his dedication throughout the period of his studies.
