As one would expect, the process of running a printing plant such as ours, can be quite a daunting task. We have a large plant comprising a number of different processes. There is the conventional litho plant, the large-format point of sale department and there is the digital department. Add to this the prepress, the hand-work and the despatch and you have a lot of different steps which have to be managed.
This requires competent and knowledgeable people who understand the printing process and who are able to work independently. However, it also needs skilled and responsible managers, especially at middle management level. It is the responsibility of these people to lead and guide their respective teams to achieve work of the highest quality.
Frans Myburgh is just such a person. As Works Manager it is his responsibility to head up the printing teams. He assigns production schedules, oversees all aspects of production and ensures the generally smooth running of the plant.
Frans joined House Of Print in 2011 as a machine minder running the KBA press. When the plant moved from Selby to Industria and merged with Artone Press he was given the task of running the big KBA Universal press. Having proved himself on this large machine, Frans was promoted to Works Manager in January 2014 and has been doing a superb job ever since. He assist the machine minders in their efforts to achieve work of the highest quality.
So, when you receive a job which makes you proud and happy, spare a though for Frans and his team, the work tirelessly to ensure your satisfaction
