Ricardo started working with House of Print as a causal worker in the Point of Sale department on 13 February 2013.
His work tasks were as a general worker. His mentor was Vincent Ntuli in the Die Cutting Section, where he taught him the basics on the Croppers (hand fed die cutting machine)
His manager began giving him more interactive jobs to do and was impressed with his level of quality and responsibility. Ricardo had then been offered a permanent position on 20 January 2014 and thereafter he was sent on a forklift drivers and fire marshal course. He has learnt to use our Lamina Gluer and is now in charge of the Ridged boards stock and slitting machine. He has his own apprentice now which he is diligently teaching. In December 2015 he got an opportunity to learn the Vutek 3200 large format printer under the watchful eye of Llewelyn Philips supervision.
Ricardo is always willing to learn more and to improve his skills further. He is happy to be in the current position for the moment.
